The Big Sky Outdoor Expo Debuts This Weekend in Billings
Have you ever attended an outdoor show, only to be disappointed to discover that half of the booths and vendors have nothing to do with the outdoors? Like, why the heck do they have booths with hot tubs, recliners, pillows, and candles?
Not that there is anything wrong with hot tubs, candles, or recliners, but seriously, just give me outdoor stuff, right? If I wanted to see home show knick-knacks, I'd go to a home show... not an outdoor show.

Billings is in for a treat, with a brand-new outdoor show set to debut January 16 - 18 at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center. The inaugural Big Sky Outdoor Expo is the brainchild of local couple Derek and Jenny Devitt. And this show is exclusively outdoor-related. No crafts, no Scentsy booths, no gimmicks. Just the good stuff.

If you recall, there was a different outdoor show that typically happened around this time of year in Billings. That show is no more. When the Devitts found out over a year ago, they realized the need for a similar show remained, and they sprang into action to fill the gap, quickly putting together their plan for the Big Sky Outdoor Expo.
Big Game. Big Skies. Big Adventure.
With around 60 vendors, attendees can enjoy three days of learning, shopping, planning, and researching their next outdoor adventures at the Big Sky Outdoor Expo. There are kids' activities, door prizes (including a 5-day African safari!), and informational seminars throughout the weekend.
The show features guides from around the nation and world.
Dreaming about an exotic safari? Or maybe you'd prefer to go fishing in Alaska or Canada? Sure, you can browse the internet, but it's tough to beat a face-to-face conversation with the actual guide who might be taking you out on a boat (or horseback, helicopter, or Land Rover) on your next big adventure. You'll find pros in the industry at this show.
Admission is free for kids 10 and under, and it's just $5 for ages 11 and up. There is a restaurant and bar on-site; please no outside food or beverages. Service dogs only. Free parking.
