Cleaning Up in the Shower

For those of you who still use bars of soap in the shower, and not shower gel, do you do what my husband does and get a new bar of soap before the other one is completely gone? At first I thought that he just didn't see the bar of soap in the shower caddy, so he got a new one.  But then I started to collect the almost used bars of soap so I could see what was going on.  As you can see, each bar is used to almost the same exact size before it is set aside and a new bar is used. This is much like using all but an inch of Ketchup in the bottle and then putting it back in the refrigerator and opening a new bottle. I wonder if I could melt down the bars and make one new big bar of soap out of it. I guess I shouldn't complain, at least he's clean and smells good. Do you use the whole bar of soap or discard it when it gets to a certain size?
