If you have a soft spot for German Shepherds, or are just a fan of larger dogs, you should probably take a good look at our featured Wet Nose Wednesday pet this week, Douglas!

Doug (I can call him Doug, right?) is five years old and originally came to Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter as a stray about a year ago. He was chipped, neutered, and quickly found a new home. However...

He's smart and playful.

With alert ears and the classic German Shepherd markings, Douglas is a handsome boy. He's tall and lean and weighs roughly 70 pounds. My personal opinion is that this happy-go-lucky pup deserves lots of treats (and nutritious dog food) to help put a little padding on his ribs.

Don't miss your chance to participate in Pet Roulette.

There's still time for you to submit a picture of your pet, along with $20, to YVAS for Pet Roulette. This is a fun promo, and one of the shelter's most popular fundraisers. A pool of artists will create a work of art from your photo submission.

The "roulette" angle is that you don't know if you'll get a frame-worthy, hang it above the mantle portrait, or if your randomly selected artist has the skills of a 4th grader. Either way, you'll get a unique piece and help support YVAS.
