Heroes at Bat Comes to Dehler Park in Billings Sunday, July 20
Montana’s Favorite First Pitch: Heroes at Bat (formerly Guns and Hoses) is Back!
Get ready for a fun day at the ballpark on Sunday, July 20, 2025. The Heroes at Bat charity softball game is taking over Dehler Park in Billings, immediately following the Mustangs game at around 5 p.m.
What It’s All About
Heroes at Bat is more than just a softball game—it’s a full-on community celebration. Every year, Billings’ finest (and bravest)—our police and fire departments—step up to the plate in a friendly showdown to help a local nonprofit. This year, proceeds benefit the Montana Hope Project.

Family Fun All Day Long
Here’s the lineup:
- Morning 5K “Beat the Heat” Run to get the energy flowing.
- Dunk tanks, food & drink vendors keeping things tasty.
- Exciting helicopter flyovers, SWAT & drone demos, and live entertainment.
- A fireworks finale that lights up the night sky over the ballpark.
Seriously—a little something for everyone.

Supporting the Montana Hope Project
This year’s proceeds support the Montana Hope Project, which grants wishes to children facing critical illnesses across the state. The group was founded by the Montana Highway Patrol and helps bring hope and joy to kids and families when they need it most. As a parent of a Montana Hope Project kid, this charity is very dear to my heart.
Why You Should Go
- It’s for a great cause—Cheering, laughter, competition, and community—all wrapped into one evening.
- The kids will love the interactive demos (and the fireworks).
- You get to watch your local heroes throw down on the diamond.
- It’s Billings summer at its best: sunshine, hot dogs, smiles, and community pride.
Heroes at Bat is proof that a softball game can dig deeper than first base. If you’re up for a feel‑good summer evening that gives back, this is your event.
