Construction Begins On Loves Travel Plaza In Laurel, Montana

Thousands of semi trucks pass through Montana on Interstate 90 each day, and those truck drivers will have a new place to stop for fuel, food, showers, and trucker-friendly hospitality, because Love's is building a new truck stop in Laurel.

Earthmoving equipment arrived last week, and workers are starting to prep the site for upcoming construction. The future truck stop is located directly north of the "new" West Laurel exit (Exit 432), which was completed several years ago.

According to tax records, Love's owns parcels of land on both sides of 19th St West, the exit road that intersects with Old US Hwy 10/Main Street. Both pieces of property total 34.2 acres, with the larger parcel located east of 19th Ave West.

Serving more than just truckers.

This will be the 4th Love's Travel Plaza in Montana. You'll find their other locations in Great Falls, Missoula, and Hardin. Love's caters to truck drivers, with most of their locations providing standard truck stop amenities like:

CAT scales
Bulk DEF
Showers
Standard and Premium wifi
Laundry facilities

Most locations also provide a small dog park area, bulk propane and propane tank exchange, RV parking, RV dump, and other amenities that appeal to everyday travelers (gas station snacks, ya'll!).

Will the new Love's Travel Plaza in Laurel have a restaurant?

I live in Laurel and follow the local community gossip pages. Residents are curious to know if our new Love's will have a fast-food restaurant incorporated in its footprint. I reached out to Love's corporate office for a comment, but did not receive a reply before my publish deadline.

It looks like the other Love's locations in Montana feature Subway sandwiches and Godfather's Pizza. I can't see another Subway opening in Laurel (we already have two), but I wouldn't complain about Godfather's.

Randomly clicking on other Love's locations, it looks like some of them have a Hardee's or Carl's Jr. Some have Chester Chicken, and some have McDonald's, Arby's or other quick-serve restaurants. We'll have to wait and see what develops at the new Love's Travel Plaza in Laurel.

I was unable to find a tentative opening date, but if I had to guess, my money would be late spring or early summer 2026.
