It has been well publicized that the Venture Theater was in dire financial straits for the last several months.
The newly named NOVA Center For The Performing Arts is a collaborative "venture" (pardon the pun) between the Venture Theater and Rimrock Opera Company. The Venture's struggles spurred donations and a fund raising campaign which allowed it to keep current on it's rent payments and pay back taxes to the IRS allowing the NOVA collaboration to move forward.

When they heard about the Ventures issues Rimrock Opera Company also stepped forward with financial assistance and the idea of working together. According to finance Director Darci Hertz, NOVA has been established as a non-profit 501(c) performing arts center which will qualify it for national grant money. Not only will NOVA the the Billings area pre-eminent performing arts hub it's also creating new jobs as they have recently posted several staff openings including their technical director and managing producer openings.
