I Love Being This Little Girl’s Dad…Especially At Christmas!

I never knew how much I would enjoy being a parent until it happened. My little girl is 9 and this has got to be one of the most enjoyable phases of her childhood. I truly enjoy our time together and Christmas seems to magnify that.

Last weekend, we watched "Scrooged", "Christmas Vacation", and "A Christmas Story". The great thing was, they were all new to her. Can you even remember the first time you watched A Christmas Carol? Do you remember what it's like not knowing how it's going to end? I don't...but I get to relive these experiences through her and it makes me feel like a kid again. It gives me that "Christmas Magic" feeling that seems to elude most adults.

I am so happy not only to have this time, but to realize how much I will miss it when it's over. I recognize that some day, if I live long enough, I will likely be old and alone and these are the memories I will wish I could relive.
